SEO-The Write Way
Instructor: Sharon & Roy Montero As the name of this course implies, you will learn how to optimize Webpages the "WRITE" way for the search engines.
That simply means by "writing" your Web copy correctly and not by trying to "trick" the search engines as so many have attempted to do, and all with little or no success.
Since Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is NOT an exact science and the search engines do not make their algorithms public knowledge (but keep them
as secretive as possible), many Webmasters new to SEO have inadvertently read the advice of or listened to the advice of those so-called SEOs who may not have really understood the harm that could be caused by following their advice.
We will always be completely upfront and honest with you and always backup all of our studies and research with as much "proof" as possible, so that
you will walk away with a deep set knowledge that each and every one of the SEO techniques that we teach you, will never, ever, get you into any trouble with the search engines, such as being penalized or banned.
Achieving a high ranking for any Webpage is really not that difficult, but what is difficult, is choosing the correct keywords to optimize your Webpage for and then also knowing just how difficult a task it will be to reach the #1 ranking.
Therefore, we will teach you how to evaluate your competition before you start optimizing your Webpage, so you will know just how easy or how difficult it will be to rank #1.
You'll learn which keywords you should optimize for (as well as which keywords you should not optimize for and why) and then we'll teach you exactly where to place them.
SEO is easier than you may think, because you may have been privy to those who would like to make it sound much more difficult than it really is. Come learn the art of SEO with us.
Prerequisites: All that is required is a deep passion and an intense desire to learn. A working knowledge of HTML is helpful but not required.

SQL for Database-Driven Web Sites
Instructor: Rudy Limeback A database-driven Web site lets you manage the contents of your site using a database instead of HTML files. Your site still delivers HTML to the browser, but the HTML is assembled dynamically, using page templates combined with database content. Immediate benefits are simplified site maintenance and automatic
generation of site components like the site map, navigation, and search.
This course is geared to all databases, all languages. You can be using ASP and Access, ColdFusion and MySQL, PHP and Sybase, or whatever combination you like. This course covers concepts useful to all database-driven Web sites.
Prerequisites:
Knowledge of HTML and Web design
An installed and working database server, to take advantage of the exercises.
Familiarity with concepts such as tables, queries, joins, and keys; some SQL experience is advised.
NOTE: This course does not cover database installation. This course assumes that you have a database server up and running and responding to queries executed from whatever web scripting language you are using, by Week 2 at the latest. This course covers what kinds of queries you need for a dynamic
Web site, but not the technical details of how to run them.
Course Outline
Week 1
How a dynamic Web site works
Week 2
Displaying and maintaining entries
Week 3
Many-to-many relationships: Entries and Authors
Week 4
Navigation, Site Maps, Breadcrumbs
Week 5
More Many-to-Many: Categories, Keywords
Week 6
