This introductory course will
be covering the basics of using the program, including
the workspace, the materials lab, how set up and
texture landscapes, importing objects from other
3D programs, working with cameras and lights, and
rendering.

Bryce 5, intermediate
Instructor: Vic Haynes
In this course, Vic takes Beginning
Bryce to the next step, covering animation basics,
demystifying the Deep Texture Editor (you will learn
how to invert the Alpha Channel, how to make your
own textures, and more) showing you Terrain Tricks
(tiling, using clipping planes for masking, making
waterfalls, etc.), and exploring ways to manipulate
clouds for more interesting and dramatic skies,
underwater (and half underwater) scenes, how to
get reflections just where you want them, and using
the numerical controls to make your work easier.
Prerequisites: Beginning Bryce
course, or a good working knowledge of Bryce, including
the use of all the tools, the ability to set up
a scene, how to use the various camera controls,
and basic knowledge of all the labs. If you don't
know how to texture objects, don't know how to edit
a terrain, or don't know how to group things, you
need to take Beginning Bryce first. No knowledge
of animation is assumed or required.

Intro
to 3D Modeling -
Instructor: Randy Rives
In this class we will be exploring
the world of 3D modeling. I will be explaining the
basic concepts of working in 3D and explore the
building blocks of a 3D model. We will also look
at different modeling techniques. We will look at
modeling with Primitives, NURBS, Sub-Division (Box
Modeling), and Point by Point modeling. We will
also take a quick glance at Lighting, Texturing
and Rendering your models. This class is design
for beginners, and for people that might just want
to explore 3D modeling to see if this genre is for
them. 3D work is a fast growing segment of the digit
art community, 3D work is popping up in the movies,
TV Commercials, Magazine Ads and even cartoons.
Join us in the class and see what all the fuss is
about.
NOTE: A registered version
of
Cinema 4D CE 6,
a 3D modeling program, will be given to each
student in the class. You will be informed of where
to download it on the welcome page when you enter
the classroom.

Enhance the power
of Painter IX!
The goal of the class
is for each student to learn how to create and use
nozzle techniques to create unique surreal or photorealistic
realistic images. It covers the step-by-step use
of Image Hose variants, the use of layers, selections,
channels and transparent layer masks in the creation
and use of 1-2 &3 rank nozzles. Included are exercises
that combine individual and nozzle library management
as well as lighting and shadow distortions. Other
exercises use grain, gradient fills, focus and nozzle
size variations during image creation."
Note:
This class is suitable for users of Painter 6, 7,
8 and IX. You will need access to a scanner or photo
cd's to complete this project.

Wacom tablets and Painter Essentials 2

So you have a Wacom tablet and you want to learn how to use it.
This class is designed to help you get the most use out of your tablet.
You will get an understanding of the various controls of your tablet and how to adjust them to suit your working style. We cover bottom Graphire and Intuos tablet controls. The class also gives you a lesson in using the Painter Essentials 2 that comes with your tablet. If you already have a full version of Painter you can use that instead of Essentials for the class. So you can get the most out of your tablet with this class.
Prerequisite: Must own a Wacom tablet and
Painter Essentials.

Beginning Photography

What's an f stop?
What's this dial do? Aperture ?-Say what? Film speed
? Huh? In this six week course we will answer these
and other questions and cover a number of the basic
skills and concepts necessary for a solid beginning
in the field of photography. The skill level assumed
in this class is that of "beginner" and successful
completion of this course should enable the student
to easily move on to more advanced techniques and
concepts with little or no difficulty. The student
should also notice a marked improvement in his or
her personal photographic work. You should be able
to move far beyond the "snapshot" stage by employing
some of the creative techniques and concepts that
will be covered in this course.
